Data Engineer in the IT-department (2 years – Temporary Position)

The position as our new Data Engineer, supports design and implementation of scientific data management (SDM) principles in the CMC and Research areas. In close cooperation with the SDM core team, you will be crucial in defining data-pipelines and scripting workflows using e.g., Python, SQL, SCALA in an Azure Databricks environment. The position is a 2-year temporary position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Organize raw data in Azure Databricks
  • Build and design data pipelines
  • Maintaining datasets
  • Build algorithms and prototypes
  • Extracting, transforming and loading data from the various data sources
  • Integrating data transfers between internal and external systems and applications.

As we are a small department, we expect you to take broad responsibility in the development and maintenance of our data foundation.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Newly graduated with a relevant educational background or have few years of experience in e.g. Software development, Datamatiker.
  • Knowledge of programming.
  • Skills in data modelling, data querying, SQL, etc.

It will be considered an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Knowledge of programming in Python.
  • Cloud Services (Azure DevOps, Azure SaaS, etc.).
